How to rotate or flip a photo
- Choose a still JPG, PNG or WebP image and check its orientation in the preview.
- Select 0°, 90°, 180° or 270° clockwise in Rotation.
- Optionally enable Flip horizontally or Flip vertically. Check the preview when combining a flip with rotation.
- Click Download PNG to save the edited image. The source file remains unchanged.
Turn a landscape photo into a portrait orientation
Choose a 1200 × 800 image and select 90° clockwise. The output becomes 800 × 1200 pixels. If the image is turned the wrong way, choose 270° instead. This rotates the scene; it does not crop it into a new composition.
Frequently asked questions
Can I rotate by an arbitrary angle such as 15 degrees?
No. This tool supports quarter turns: 0°, 90°, 180° and 270°. Arbitrary-angle straightening is not currently available.
What is the difference between rotation and flipping?
Rotation turns the image around its center. A flip mirrors it along an axis. The preview shows the combined effect when both options are used.
Will a 90-degree rotation change image dimensions?
Yes. Width and height swap for 90° or 270°. A 180° rotation keeps the same width and height. Transparent areas remain transparent in the PNG output.
Supported files and limits
One image up to 20 MB and 16 megapixels. JPG, PNG and WebP inputs; PNG output. Inspect text and logos after mirroring because they may read backward.
When something does not work
Mirrored text reads backward
Horizontal and vertical flips mirror all pixels, including lettering. Disable the flip if you only need an orientation change.
I need to straighten a slight tilt
This tool provides quarter turns only. It does not support arbitrary-angle straightening.
